Finnleo and Tylö Sauna Recalls (2026): Every Recalled Model, the Hazards and What Owners Should Do

Short answer

On September 17, 2026, Sauna360 recalled about 48,300 Finnleo, Tylö, Helo and Radiant Health infrared and hybrid saunas and infrared kits in the U.S. and Canada because their panels can short-circuit and overheat [1]. It expanded a Tylö bench-collapse recall to about 6,000 rooms after the 2025 repair proved ineffective [2]. Stop using affected units and register for free repairs.

Two recall issues across three CPSC notices

Sauna360, Inc. of Cokato, Minnesota is the importer named in every notice. Its About page lists Tylö, Helo, Kastor, Finnleo and Amerec as the group's brands [10], and Finnleo describes itself as a division of Sauna360 [11]. Three CPSC notices cover two separate hazards: infrared panels that can short-circuit (one notice, 26-784) and Tylö benches that can collapse (an October 2025 notice, 26-040, and its September 2026 expansion, 26-783).

Unit and incident counts are the figures printed in each notice on the check date. Read them carefully. The 6,000 rooms in the bench expansion (26-783) include the 1,000 first recalled in 26-040: the expansion's serial ranges contain the 2025 ranges, so the two bench figures should not be added together. The panel recall (26-784) and the bench recall are separate counts, but the Tylö Kiruna Hybrid 2 and 3 appear in both, so a single room can be subject to both hazards and those totals should not be added either. Sauna360's FAQs say it expects to resolve both issues in a single service visit [7][9].

Recall 1: infrared panels that can short-circuit (CPSC 26-784)

What the notice says

CPSC's notice is titled "Sauna360 Recalls Infrared Saunas, Hybrid Infrared Saunas and Infrared Kits Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Fire and Burn Hazards." It states that the infrared panels in the saunas and kits can short-circuit and overheat. Sauna360 had received 67 reports of overheating, melting, charring or burning, and no injuries had been reported [1].

The recalled products were sold at Costco stores, on Costco.com and other online sites, and through pool and spa dealerships nationwide from May 2013 through July 2026 for $6,000 to $13,000. CPSC lists the country of manufacture as China and labels the notice a Fast Track recall [1]. Health Canada published a joint notice the same day (RA-82120) covering 6,758 units sold in Canada. It lists the sale window as January 2013 to August 2026 and reports five Canadian incidents as of September 10, 2026, again with no injuries [4]. The two agencies' sale windows differ by a few months, so we print both rather than choose one.

Every recalled model

The table reproduces the model list from the CPSC notice [1]. Health Canada's table is identical, although its title also names the Polar brand [4]. If you bought a custom or semi-custom room, check the control panel or manual for the words Saunalogic, Infralogic, Carbonflex or Tylö.

What the repair is

The CPSC remedy is to stop using the infrared and hybrid saunas immediately and contact Sauna360 to schedule a free in-home repair from a professional installer [1]. Sauna360's FAQ describes the fix: installers will fit new circuit boards in every recalled sauna, with a new fuse connected to every panel, regardless of brand or model. Asked when parts will be available, the company says it is currently unable to give an exact timeline and that scheduling depends on parts availability and technician coverage in your area [7].

The FAQ lists no refund, replacement or buy-back option. Its answer for owners who do not want the repair is that the sauna should not be used until the approved remedy is installed [7].

Recall 2: Tylö benches that can collapse, recalled twice (CPSC 26-040 and 26-783)

Timeline

1. 2024: launch. Sauna360's recall page describes the Halmstad and Kiruna Hybrid as launched in September 2024; CPSC's first notice lists sales beginning in July 2024 [3][8].
2. October 23, 2025: first recall. About 1,000 rooms. Sauna360 had received seven reports of benches breaking, including one consumer with head and neck injuries. The remedy was a professional retrofit of the benches with additional hardware, plus a revised manual stating the bench weight limit [3].
3. September 17, 2026: expansion. About 6,000 rooms, covering sales through July 2026. CPSC states that the previous recall repair was ineffective. Sauna360 reported 77 additional bench failures and six injuries, including one consumer with head and neck injuries and another with a sprained ankle. Owners must stop using the saunas even if they received the 2025 fix; installers will now add hardware and supports [2].

Sauna360's page for the expansion says it now covers every Halmstad and Kiruna Hybrid sold since the product launched [8]. The rooms sold for $6,000 to $12,000 through distributors nationwide. The 2026 expansion notice names SFactor of China as the manufacturer and Sauna360 as the importer [2].

Recalled models and serial ranges

The 2025 notice covered narrower ranges: Halmstad 4933 through 6970 and Kiruna Hybrid 4964 through 7224 [3]. The expansion's ranges start lower and run far higher, which is why an owner whose serial number fell outside the first recall should check again.

One wording difference worth knowing

CPSC's expansion notice counts six injuries. Sauna360's bench-recall FAQ, dated the same day, answers the injury question by referring to reported bench-collapse incidents and alleged injuries [2][9]. We cite the agency's figure.

Where the recalled saunas were made

All three notices list the country of manufacture as China [1][2][3], and the 2026 bench expansion names SFactor of China as the manufacturer [2]. Finnleo's About page describes a brand founded on September 14, 1984 in Cokato, Minnesota, with "US-based manufacturing" there, heaters designed and built in Finland, and additional Sauna360 manufacturing locations in Sweden and Finland [11]. The notices do not say where Finnleo's traditional-only rooms or its Finnish-built heaters are made, and none of those products is named in any recall. For the infrared and hybrid models that are named, CPSC and Health Canada both list China as the country of manufacture.

Can you still buy one right now?

Sauna360's recall landing page headlines the infrared action as a shipment pause plus a voluntary recall of installed and delivered saunas [5]. CPSC's standard language on every notice states that federal law prohibits selling products subject to a voluntary recall undertaken in consultation with the agency [1]. Health Canada adds that recalled products cannot be redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada [4].

At our September 18, 2026 check, Finnleo's InfraSauna page still presented the IS440 and IS565 as ready-to-buy modular rooms with a dealer locator and no recall banner; the only recall reference was a "Recall" link in the site footer pointing to Sauna360's recall page [12]. Both models appear in the recall table (as IS440-15, IS440-20 and IS565). If a dealer offers you a Finnleo, Tylö or Helo infrared or hybrid room, ask in writing whether the unit ships with the corrected circuit board and per-panel fuses, and whether its serial number falls inside a recalled range.

How to check whether your sauna is recalled

1. Find the brand. Pre-configured rooms carry a brand badge on the front frame panel, the control panel, the manual or the logo handle. Custom and semi-custom rooms built with IR panels show Saunalogic, Infralogic, Carbonflex or Tylö on the control panel or in the manual [1].
2. Find the serial number. For infrared and hybrid rooms it is under the lower bench or on the wall under the upper bench. For the Halmstad it is beneath the upper bench on the left, above the contactor box; for the Kiruna Hybrid it is on the right wall beneath the upper bench [1][2].
3. Compare it to the tables above, or send the serial number to Sauna360, which will confirm whether the unit is included [1].
4. Stop using the sauna. Both 2026 notices say to stop immediately, and the bench notice says this applies even if you already received the 2025 repair [1][2].
5. Register for the free repair. Call 866-936-5962 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday), email recall@sauna360.com, or use the online registration form linked from Sauna360's recall pages. Parts, labor and the service visit are free [6][7].

Sauna360's FAQs add practical points: the company needs the sauna's current address even if you have moved, it asks previous owners to pass along the current owner's contact details, an adult must be present for the visit, the technician will handle only the recall work, and accepting the repair does not affect warranty coverage [7][9]. If a company is unresponsive about a remedy, CPSC offers a recall complaint form on its notice pages [3].

What this recall record means if you are comparing brands

A recall is not a verdict on every product a company sells, and Sauna360's notices are limited to the models named above. What the record does show is what to verify before buying any infrared sauna, from any brand:

• Search the recall databases yourself. Search CPSC.gov for the brand and model, check SaferProducts.gov for incident reports, and use Health Canada's database if you are in Canada [4].
• Ask for the safety listing. Sauna heating appliances and infrared cabins are covered by UL 875 and the newer ANSI/UL 60335-2-53 standard. Ask which standard the cabin is listed to and by which laboratory. Our guide to what makes a high-quality sauna explains both.
• Ask how each panel is protected. Sauna360's remedy adds a fuse to every panel. Ask any manufacturer how its infrared panels are individually protected against a short circuit.
• Ask for named third-party test reports for EMF and cabin air, with the laboratory, the date and the measurement position stated.
• Check whether a recall remedy has been revised. CPSC's September 2026 bench notice states that the 2025 repair was ineffective and that a new repair is being offered [2]. Ask whether any sauna you are considering has an open or revised recall.

The site publishes its testing record on one page [15]. The three items on that page establish different aspects of the testing record:

• ETL listing through Intertek for the U.S. and Canada on its indoor infrared cabins: a product-safety certification against the applicable listing standard. This is the item that addresses electrical and fire safety, the hazard in the panel recall.
• Vitatech Electromagnetics EMF report: measured magnetic-field readings at seated distances, 0.3 to 0.9 milligauss at three feet. This speaks to field exposure, not to fire risk.
• VERT Environmental VOC test: a one-time cabin-air sample of 27 µg/m³ total VOCs from April 2026. This speaks to off-gassing, not to electrical safety.

A web search of CPSC recall listings on September 18, 2026 returned no recall naming Sun Home Saunas; run that search yourself before any purchase, because a recall can be issued at any time. If you own a Finnleo, Tylö, Helo, Radiant Health, Saunatec, Tylohelo, Amerec or Sauna360-branded infrared or hybrid sauna, or a custom room built with Saunalogic, Infralogic, Carbonflex, Aspire or Bliss panels, compare your model and serial number with the tables above. If your model is listed, or you are not sure, stop using the sauna and contact Sauna360 at 866-936-5962 or recall@sauna360.com; the company confirms inclusion from the serial number. Expect a wait for parts, since no timeline has been published. If you own a Tylö Halmstad or Kiruna Hybrid, register for the bench repair even if you already had the 2025 fix, because CPSC states that fix was ineffective. Models not named in the notices, including Finnleo's traditional-only rooms and heaters, are not part of either recall.
